Diabetic Life Tools (“we”, “us”) runs Diabetic Life Tools. Health information is sensitive, so here is the short version first: your health data belongs to you. We do not sell it, we do not share it with advertisers, and we do not use it for marketing. You can download or delete it at any time.
Who we are
[LEGAL BUSINESS NAME], [BUSINESS ADDRESS, COUNTRY]. Contact: support@diabeticlifetools.com.
What we collect
- Account details: your name, email address, and a securely hashed password (or your Google account identifier if you sign in with Google).
- Profile details you give us: diabetes type, main goal, preferred glucose unit and target range.
- Health information you choose to enter: blood sugar readings and notes, the names of your medications and whether you marked them as taken, exercise you marked as done, mood, stress and sleep entries, and questionnaire answers.
- App activity: favorite recipes, your meal plan and shopping list, and lessons you marked as complete.
- Payment status: whether you have paid and which plan you chose. Card details are handled entirely by our payment provider; we never see or store your card number.
- Technical data: a login cookie to keep you signed in, a cookie remembering your time zone, and basic server logs (such as IP address and browser type) kept for security.
How we use it
- To show your own data back to you: charts, averages, reports and checklists.
- To run your account: signing in, password resets, and customer support when you ask for it.
- To process your purchase and give you access.
- To keep the service secure and working.
We do not use your health information for advertising, profiling, or training AI models.
Legal basis (EU/UK visitors)
We process your account data to perform our contract with you. We process health data only with your explicit consent, which you give when you create your account, and which you can withdraw at any time by deleting your data or your account.
Who else handles your data
We use a small number of service providers who process data on our behalf, under contract:
- Supabase (database and login). Data is stored in [SUPABASE REGION, e.g. United States (East)].
- Vercel (website hosting).
- Lemon Squeezy (payments, as merchant of record).
- Google (only if you choose “Continue with Google”).
We do not sell or rent your personal information to anyone. We only disclose it if the law requires us to.
How we protect it
- All traffic is encrypted in transit (HTTPS) and the database is encrypted at rest.
- Database rules ensure each signed-in user can only read and change their own records.
- Passwords are never stored in readable form.
No online service can promise perfect security. If we ever learn of a breach affecting your data, we will tell you promptly.
How long we keep it
We keep your data for as long as your account exists. When you delete your account, your profile and all your health data are permanently erased from our live database straight away, and from backups within [30] days. Payment records may be kept longer where tax law requires it.
Your choices and rights
- Export: download your data as CSV files from Settings.
- Delete: delete your account and all of your data from Settings.
- Correct: edit or delete any individual entry at any time.
- Depending on where you live, you may also have the right to access, restrict or object to processing, and to complain to your local data protection authority. Email us and we will help.
Cookies
We use only essential cookies: one to keep you signed in and one to remember your time zone. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.
Children
The app is intended for adults. It is not directed at children under [18], and we do not knowingly collect their data.
HIPAA
Diabetic Life Tools is a personal wellness tool that you use on your own behalf. We are not your healthcare provider or health insurer, and the app is not a HIPAA “covered entity”.
Changes
If we make important changes to this policy, we will tell you in the app or by email before they take effect.
